Some parents have a hard time talking to their kid about drugs. Maybe they don't know how to make an approach or it seems unnecessary to bring up the subject of drugs or maybe their is some past drug use for the parent which could put them on the spot if asked about their past.
The truth is, the subject of drugs need to be addressed by the parent before the kid gets introduced to drugs by friends.
It's safer to expose the truth about drugs to kids before false information about drugs hits them first so that they're aware of the false information when they hear about it.
If you need some tips on talking to your young kid or teen about drugs then check out this inexpensive booklet called Talking to Kids About Drugs on amazon.
